Department Goal

The aim of our department is to become a preferred department among the departments that train the professional staff that our country needs, and to train banking and insurance professionals who are equipped with the necessary scientific and social skills, have high knowledge of economics and finance, can cooperate between disciplines, have managerial skills, are innovative, creative, critical, can produce original solutions, and are sensitive.

Career Opportunities

Banking and Insurance graduates have the opportunity to work in all public and private financial institutions, especially institutions and organizations operating in the banking and insurance sector. Our graduates, who are qualified and equipped to assume responsibility in the banking and insurance sectors with the courses they take during their four-year undergraduate education, can work in different positions such as bankers, finance specialists, middle and senior managers. The program content has been designed considering the need for a qualified workforce in the sector.

Departments where horizontal transfer is possible

The Banking and Insurance Department accepts students for associate degree/undergraduate programs through horizontal transfer within the quota in accordance with the "Regulation on the Principles of Transfer Between Associate and Undergraduate Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer". 

Vertical Transferable Departments

All students who want to transfer to the department with Vertical Transfer are placed by ÖSYM if they take the Vertical Transfer Exam and  get the required score. Students who meet all the requirements are thus entitled to receive a four-year undergraduate education at our school. In addition, Istanbul Gelişim University associate degree students have the opportunity to study with a 50% scholarship if they win the paid quota with DGS.
