Upon the letter of the Ministry of National Education dated 08/07/2008 and numbered 17261, our Vocational School was established and started education by the Council of Ministers on 14/07/2008 in accordance with the Additional Article 2 of Law No. 2547.
“Istanbul Gelişim University” was established with the Law No. 6114 dated 17/02/2011 and continues its education and training activities with 6 faculties, 2 colleges, 2 vocational schools and the Postgraduate Education Institute in the 2023-2024 academic year.
Adopting the principle of “Development” in every field that Turkey and the world need, İGU has graduated 57,156 graduates with leadership qualities in accordance with the principles and fundamentals of the accreditations it has. Istanbul Gelişim University, which is in collaboration with over 130 world universities, also motivates its associate, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students on the path to becoming international.
Istanbul Gelişim University offers its students a huge research complex consisting of over 140 laboratories on its campus located in Istanbul, one of the financial and commercial centers of Türkiye and the world. There are also 21 research centers and 67 student clubs at IGU that allow students to engage in social, cultural, scientific and sports activities outside of class.
