Overview
The mission of the Turkish Language Teaching Program is to train teachers who know the Turkish language phonetically, morphologically, semantically and etymologically with scientific methods, who love the Turkish language and will convey it to future generations in the most accurate way. Our aim is to train teachers who know Turkish well, who respect and care for the language they speak, who are the protectors and transmitters of national values, who are aware of being a bridge between the past and the future, and who have the values of their time. The Turkish Language Teaching Program accepts students with the TS-2 score type. The education period of the program is 4 years and the education curriculum is determined by the Council of Higher Education; It consists of compulsory courses themed on educational sciences, education and teaching of Turkish, and elective courses that will enrich the general culture of the students.
In order for our students to specialize both personally and professionally, emphasis is placed on theory and practice-oriented education. The courses are designed to prepare prospective teachers for the profession and the curriculum is designed to develop the knowledge and skills of Turkish teacher candidates regarding education, teaching, learning, classroom management, planning and evaluation of education.
Our graduates can work as teachers in private educational institutions and official and private schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education by obtaining the title of “Turkish Language Teacher”. In addition, our graduates can continue their postgraduate education in the fields of Turkish Language Teaching, Turkish Language, Turkish Literature, Turkology, etc. in Turkey and abroad, and work as academicians and experts in relevant departments, institutes and research centers of universities. In addition, they can work as expert instructors in various countries of the world within the scope of teaching Turkish as a foreign language within the scope of Yunus Emre Institute and Turkish Language Teaching Centers of universities. Our graduates can be employed in other official and private institutions, state archives and museums, media organizations and other sectors. They can also work as editors in publishing houses, newspapers and magazines.
