- 1953: The Technicum of Metallurgy and Mechanical Engineering was established in Dunaújváros to supply the Danube Iron Works (Dunaferr) with skilled specialists.
- 1969: The Technicum gained College ranking by becoming a faculty of the Technical University of Heavy Industry in Miskolc, expanding its program offerings.
- 2000: The institution became an independent higher educational institution under the name College of Dunaújváros, broadening its academic scope.
