Program Overview: Procurement and Strategic Sourcing
The Procurement and Strategic Sourcing diploma program at Conestoga College prepares you for a professional career in the growing field of supply chain and logistics management. With a central curriculum theme of total cost of ownership, you will develop the skills necessary to contribute to cost management, adaptability, and quality efforts in organizations across public and private sectors.
This two-year program equips graduates with practical knowledge in purchasing and procurement policies, supplier evaluation, quality management, and strategic sourcing. You will learn to evaluate purchasing functions such as price determination, source selection, quantity and quality considerations, value analysis, and contract management.
The program has been approved for advanced standing toward attaining the Certified Supply Chain Leader (CSCL) designation through the National Institute of Supply Chain Leaders (NISCL). Graduates may also pursue professional certifications including CPPB, CPPO, CPIM through ASCM, and the Certified Logistics Professional (CCLP) designation.

The Procurement and Strategic Sourcing curriculum is designed to build a strong foundation in business fundamentals before advancing into specialized procurement, supply chain, and logistics coursework. You will develop competencies in supplier evaluation, cost analysis, quality management, and strategic sourcing across four semesters.
Introduces current policies and practices for purchasing and procurement, covering the fundamentals of the procurement cycle, ethical sourcing, and organizational purchasing standards.
Supply Chain Management
4 creditsProvides an overview of the transformation and flow of materials in a supply chain, including forecasting, planning, sourcing, production, and delivery of products and services to customers.
Covers the mathematical basis for personal and business financial decisions through modules on payroll, cost-volume-profit analysis, merchandising mathematics, and problem-solving skills.
Focuses on evaluating suppliers and their performance using comprehensive criteria, including formal and informal evaluation techniques to support organizational goals.
Applies quality management practices to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of materials and operations management, supporting continuous improvement in procurement processes.
