Mobile and Web Development Program Overview
The Mobile and Web Development program at Conestoga College is a four-semester Ontario College Diploma designed to prepare students for careers in the software development industry. Curriculum and Course Modules
The Mobile and Web Development program spans four semesters and covers a comprehensive range of topics from foundational programming concepts to advanced mobile and web application development. The curriculum balances theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on lab experiences to ensure you are job-ready upon graduation.
Develops a strong foundation in programming concepts and logic, building skills in object-oriented programming to create software applications according to current industry best practices.
Introduces web-based application development using browser-based tools. Students program both client-side and server-side scripting inside HTML forms and build static and dynamic web sites using HTML, XHTML, and CSS.
Focuses on building platform-specific mobile solutions for business and technical environments, with emphasis on performance, network reliability, deployment, testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of mobile solutions.
Covers core concepts of cloud computing technology including hypervisors, hardware virtualization, and common cloud infrastructure components. Students learn to install, configure, and secure virtual environments for use with mobile and web applications.
Introduces the fundamentals of designing database relationships across entities, building schemas, and introductory SQL queries for data retrieval and modification in support of mobile and web applications.
