The Information Technology Infrastructure program at Conestoga College is a two-semester Ontario College Graduate Certificate that focuses on hands-on application of network and systems administration practices commonly employed in modern IT enterprise infrastructure management. Curriculum and Modules
The Information Technology Infrastructure program is structured across two semesters, delivering a comprehensive curriculum that covers network administration, server infrastructure, virtualization, cloud computing, and security. Each module emphasizes practical, hands-on application of skills used in real enterprise IT environments.
Covers the installation, configuration, and management of Windows Server operating systems including directory services, group policy, and core infrastructure services essential for enterprise environments.
Introduces routing protocols, switching, WAN and WLAN technologies, and network scaling techniques. Students build and configure increasingly complex enterprise network topologies.
Covers private and public cloud services, virtual infrastructure automation, high availability clusters, load balancing, and patch deployment for resilient virtual environments.
Builds on server foundations with advanced capabilities including security practices, policy design and enforcement, patch management, advanced directory services, and automation of common server tasks.
Expands on networking foundations with advanced routing protocols and techniques, high availability, network scaling, WAN technologies, and wireless networking for complex enterprise environments.

Admission to the Information Technology Infrastructure Graduate Certificate program is competitive. Applicants are ranked based on an assessment of academic performance, level and discipline of their credential, and supporting IT technology experience. - Primary PathwayAn Ontario College diploma, advanced diploma, degree, or equivalent in a technology-based field such as Computing, Engineering, IT, or Applications Development with an overall average grade of B or above
- Alternative PathwayAn Ontario College diploma, advanced diploma, degree, or equivalent in another field with a minimum of 5 years of full-time work experience as an IT system or network administrator or similar position, with an overall average grade of B or above
- Experience-Based PathwayAn Ontario College diploma with a minimum of 5 years of full-time IT system or network administration experience, with an overall average grade of B or above
- Minimum GPAOverall average grade of B or above (as assessed, by country, to Ontario standards)
- Supporting ExperienceExperience with Microsoft operating systems, Linux/UNIX operating systems, networking technologies, or virtualization platforms is considered during the ranking process
