Program Overview: IT Infrastructure and Services Diploma

This program prepares graduates for a career in Information Technology Infrastructure support and administration. Graduate employability is enhanced by in-depth training in a broad range of business, computer, and people skills that are in high demand across many industries.

The program focuses on the practical application of skills and knowledge to install, configure, and troubleshoot workstation and server computers, networks, and cloud environments, including operating systems, infrastructure, network services, database systems, messaging systems, and IoT. Practical work is completed on industry-standard hardware and software encountered in the workplace.

Students gain a solid foundation to challenge industry certification exams in operating system support, networking, and virtualization. The optional co-op stream includes one co-op work term, providing real-world professional experience to complement classroom learning.

Curriculum and Course Modules

The two-year diploma curriculum blends technical, interpersonal, and business skills across four academic semesters. Students develop competencies in networking, server administration, cloud environments, security, and IT documentation through a combination of theory and hands-on lab work.

Network Infrastructure

Students learn to design, implement, and manage local and wide area networks. The course covers network hardware, protocols, and configuration of switches and routers in enterprise environments.

Operating Systems and Server Administration

This module covers the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of workstation and server operating systems. Students gain practical skills in managing Windows and Linux server environments.

Applied Networking and Security

Building on foundational networking knowledge, this course focuses on implementing and maintaining secure computing environments. Topics include firewalls, access controls, and security best practices.

Cloud Computing and Virtualization
