Civitas University
The change in status is a natural continuation of the university’s development, which began in 1997 with its founding by scholars from the Polish Academy of Sciences. Key turning points in this journey include joining the Merito Group in September 2024 and becoming a member of the WSB–DSW Merito Scientific Federation in January 2025. From the outset, the university has been committed to combining academic excellence with practical education, preparing future leaders in business, politics, media, and civil society. University status, along with membership in the academic federation, opens the door to new research and educational initiatives in an increasingly international environment. Nestled within the iconic Palace of Culture and Science, in the heart of Warsaw – Central and Eastern Europe’s most dynamic capital city – Civitas University stands as a beacon of modernity and academic excellence. Guided by the expertise and dedication of our founders and faculty members, our institution has earned unparalleled recognition as the premier destination for studying international relations, social sciences, management, and journalism and new media in English. With the authority to confer both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees across a diverse range of programs, Civitas University offers a transformative educational experience designed to empower students for success in today’s interconnected world. Civitas University boasts a distinguished reputation for delivering top-quality education, recognized both nationally and internationally. Accredited by the National Accreditation Commission, our institution upholds rigorous standards of academic excellence. As a signatory of the Magna Charta Universitatum 2020, Civitas University proudly aligns with esteemed national and international associations and organizations, including the Conference of Rectors of Polish Universities (CRASP) and the Conference of Rectors of Non-Public Academic Universities (KRAUN), as well as prominent bodies such as the International Association of Universities, the European Association for International Education (EAIE), the European School of Sustainability Sciences and Research (ESSSR), and the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA). Furthermore, Civitas University actively participates in the Erasmus+ programme and was honored by the European Commission in 2023 with the title “Erasmus Without Paper Champion.” These affiliations underscore our commitment to providing a world-class education that prepares students to thrive in an ever-evolving global landscape.
