The Department of Tourism Management offers a comprehensive 4-year undergraduate program designed to prepare students for successful careers in one of the world’s most dynamic and rapidly growing sectors. The program aims to train disciplined, creative, and productive tourism professionals who possess a deep understanding of both domestic and international tourism markets, strong communication skills, and a sensitivity to diverse cultural values.
Students in this department receive an education that combines theoretical foundations with intensive practical training, equipping them with the necessary tools to succeed in a competitive industry. Core areas of study include hospitality management, travel and tour operations, tourism marketing, sustainable tourism, event and destination management, tourism economics, and cultural heritage tourism. Special attention is given to hands-on learning experiences, which are integrated throughout the program to ensure that students can apply what they learn in real-world scenarios.
Practical training is a cornerstone of the curriculum. Through internships, field studies, on-site tourism projects, and collaborations with hotels, travel agencies, and tourism institutions, students gain valuable experience that enhances their employability and prepares them to handle the dynamic demands of the tourism and hospitality industry. This practice-oriented approach allows graduates to confidently enter the job market with both knowledge and experience.
The language of instruction is Turkish, and the program spans eight semesters (4 academic years). In addition to core tourism courses, students also develop key competencies in foreign language use, digital tools, team management, and customer relations, all of which are essential for working in a globalized tourism environment.
Graduates of the Department of Tourism Management can pursue careers in hotels, resorts, travel agencies, airlines, tour companies, event management firms, and tourism planning departments of local or international organizations. They are also well-equipped to launch their own tourism enterprises or continue their academic journey through postgraduate studies.
With a strong emphasis on quality education, cultural awareness, and practical readiness, the Department of Tourism Management prepares its students to become innovative leaders and skilled professionals in the ever-evolving world of tourism.
