Migration Studies (Thesis)
Beykent University, Turkey
Overview
The Master's Program in Migration Studies (Thesis) is designed to provide students with a comprehensive and interdisciplinary understanding of migration as a global phenomenon shaped by economic, political, social, and cultural factors. The program covers a broad range of topics, including international migration flows, forced migration and asylum, integration and inclusion policies, diaspora and transnationalism, human rights, labor migration, and border politics.
Students are introduced to theoretical frameworks and practical tools for analyzing migration processes and their effects on both sending and receiving societies. Through qualitative and quantitative research training, students develop strong analytical and methodological skills that allow them to conduct independent research and contribute to academic and policy discussions on migration.
The thesis component encourages students to explore specific migration-related challenges and produce original research that can inform policy or practice. Graduates are well-prepared for careers in international organizations, governmental bodies, NGOs, academia, or policy think tanks working on migration, refugee affairs, and human mobility.
