Overview

The objectives of the program, in accordance with the changing and developing needs in Türkiye and the world, are stated below;

1. Providing the opportunity to gain knowledge, experience and discipline in the field of computer engineering and to apply these gains,

2. Ensuring that they achieve a successful business career by combining their analytical and systematic thinking skills with the concepts of science, mathematics and engineering,

3. Ensuring that they can communicate effectively, work in teams and lead,

4. Ensuring that they adopt lifelong education in order to keep up with the changing and developing world,

5. Ensuring that they can present their academic studies in national and/or international environments,

6. Ensuring that they are sensitive to ethical, cultural and environmental values ​​in professional life.

The program basically follows the development of technology and focuses on software development methodologies, artificial intelligence, data mining, computer graphics, machine learning, computer networks and security, and computer vision.

Students are provided with the opportunity to work on their own and/or in groups before and after the course. Within the scope of the services provided within the university, the opportunity to benefit from subscription databases and libraries is provided, thus supporting academic studies. Academic advice is provided for the problems experienced by graduate students in the businesses they currently work at.

Students are asked to prepare reports and presentations on a specific topic, thus contributing to the effective reporting and presentation of a topic. Students are asked to discuss specific academic topics in class to determine their level of knowledge and suggest ways to improve their knowledge.

 

Basic Program Outcomes

Graduates of the Computer Engineering Master's Program can work in the IT departments of large-medium sized public institutions, banks, telecommunications companies and private companies as system managers responsible for the design and operation of systems, database administrators, network administrators, team leaders in software teams, or as entrepreneurs who shape their own businesses with the competencies they have gained. In addition;

1. Sufficient knowledge; has the ability to use theoretical and applied knowledge in these fields in Computer Engineering problems.

2. The ability to develop, select and use modern techniques and tools necessary for the analysis and solution of complex problems encountered; acquire the ability to use information technologies effectively.

3. Collects data to examine problems, analyzes and interprets the results.

4. Works effectively in disciplinary and multi-disciplinary teams; takes individual responsibility.

5. Awareness of the necessity of lifelong learning; ability to access information, follow developments in science and technology, and constantly renew oneself.

6. Acts in accordance with ethical principles and has a sense of professional and ethical responsibility.

7. Have knowledge about the standards used in Computer Engineering applications.

Employment Profiles of Graduates

Students who graduate from the Computer Engineering Master's Program can work in various private and public institutions such as white goods production, communication system production, telecommunication system operators, Internet service providers, defense systems, automotive sector, etc. The tasks performed are mostly on software, algorithm development, processing, transmission, perception, storage of information such as data, audio and video, design of electronic systems and systems, antennas and electromagnetic field and wave applications, physics of semiconductor electronic elements.

Graduates who carry out relevant activities in the sectors mentioned above can also become managers in companies operating in these sectors and even establish companies in these sectors.

 

Transition to Advanced Programs

If a student graduates from a thesis program, he/she can apply to eighth level programs.

In case of graduating from non-thesis programs, there is no chance to continue doctoral education according to the YÖK Postgraduate Education and Training Regulation dated 20.04.2016.
