Molecular Biology and Genetics (English)

Besides rare hereditary diseases; the analysis of molecular pathology of complex diseases such as cancer, neurodegenerative conditions and diabetes; pharmacogenetics; development of treatment methods optimised for persons and gene therapy methods, examining the development of biological life, use of bacteria and yeasts in biotechnology, understanding of biological systems with systems biology, analysis of genetic structures of species with bioinformatic methods are among the research areas of molecular biology. Istanbul Arel University Molecular Biology and Genetics Department aims to train specialists who have been trained with a strong understanding of the field of molecular biology and genetics and can work independently, have self-confidence in solving problems and creating innovations. Such specialists are increasingly in demand in different fields such as medicine, agriculture and industry. Students will have the opportunity to apply and develop their theoretical knowledge with the laboratory training they receive during their undergraduate studies, as well as the internship they will undergo during the summer. The Molecular Biology and Genetics Department students, thanks to the knowledge and experience they have gained in the courses they take during the undergraduate program, will be able to easily get a place for themselves in fields such as academia, master’s programs (master’s, doctorate), industrial organizations (biomedical, biotechnology), genetic diagnosis centers, IVF centers, etc. Also, thanks to the English education they receive, students will also be able to follow scientific developments at the international level; further being able to earn or pursue a master’s degree education, internships and job opportunities internationally.
