Overview
The program is designed to train professional tourist guides equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to meet the demands of the tourism industry.Graduates are prepared to work in various tourism-related fields, including travel agencies, tour operations, and cultural heritage sites.
History
Antalya BELEK University Vocational School Travel-Tourism and Entertainment Services Department Tourist Guidance Program has started its education life as of the 2020-2021 academic year.
Qualification Awarded
When the 120 ECTS credit program is successfully completed and the program qualifications are met, an Associate Degree in Tourism Guidance is obtained.
Admission Requirements
It is determined by ÖSYM that the candidates have a high school diploma or its equivalent and in line with the relevant legislation of YÖK.
Higher Grade Transition
Candidates who have successfully completed their Associate Degree education can apply to undergraduate programs in related fields, provided that they get sufficient grades from the Vertical Transfer exam conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center.
Graduation Requirements
In order to successfully complete the program, it is necessary to pass all of the available courses (equivalent to 120 ECTS), to achieve a weighted grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00, and not to have received FF or FD grades in any of the courses.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Individuals who gain the competencies required by the profession in the tourism sector; They can work as tourist guides in museums, tourist offices, travel agencies or freelance.
Assessment and Grading
In order for each student to register for the courses at the beginning of the semester and take the final exam, they must attend at least 70% of the courses and at least 80% of the practices. Students are subjected to at least one midterm and final exam for each course. The contribution of the midterm exam (the scores obtained from measurement tools such as homework, laboratory exam, and quiz) to the success grade is 40% and the contribution of the final exam is 60%. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. It is obligatory to get at least 30 points from the final exam. A student who receives one of the letter grades of AA, BA, BB, CB and CC from a course is deemed to have succeeded in that course. DC and DD grades are conditionally successful grades. In order for the student to be successful in a course in which he received a DC or DD grade, his or her GPA must be at least 2.0.
