SHSH Cambridge CSPVA (Jewellery Making)
The Jewellery Making programme at CSVPA offers an immersive and professional introduction to the specialized world of accessory design. This course is meticulously designed for students who wish to develop the fundamental skills required to generate high-quality wearable jewellery, bridging the gap between artistic concept and physical construction. Throughout the week, participants engage in intensive workshops where they explore various techniques such as wire work, cold joining, and the manipulation of diverse materials to create unique, hand-crafted items.
The curriculum focuses on teaching students how to consider the human form as a canvas for their designs, ensuring that every piece created is not only aesthetically striking but also functionally wearable. Under the mentorship of industry-active professionals, students are encouraged to experiment with texture, form, and balance, allowing them to discover their unique creative voice within the craft. The studio environment at CSVPA is equipped with professional tools that replicate a real-world designer's atelier, providing a realistic and inspiring space for technical growth.
Beyond the technical training, the programme is enriched by a full social experience designed to inspire young creatives. With seven evening activities per week and a full-day excursion to major cultural hubs like London, students have ample opportunity to gather visual research from galleries and museums, which they can then apply to their own design projects. Staying in premium residential accommodation in the heart of Cambridge, students benefit from a secure and supportive community of international peers, making this programme a perfect stepping stone for future academic or professional pursuits in the jewellery and fashion industries.
