The Nursing Education Program prepares Nurse Educators for faculty positions in Associate and Baccalaureate Degree Programs, and for staff development positions in health care agencies. Students are prepared to use state of the art technology in the planning, implementing and delivery of educational programs.

Career Opportunities

Nursing education graduates are teaching in associate and baccalaureate degree nursing programs and working as clinical educators in various health care agencies. 

Admissions Requirements

Requirements for matriculation and admission into the Master of Science program in nursing are: 

1. Complete Mercy University application.
2. Baccalaureate transcript with a nursing major from a professionally accredited program*
3. GPA 3.0**
4. Copy of current RN registration in the U.S.

*Students who obtained a non-nursing baccalaureate degree and have an associate degree in nursing are eligible for the Bridge Program where they will receive a MS in Nursing Education, not a BS in Nursing. Students will be required to take the undergraduate course NURS 361

**Students with a GPA less than 3.0 will be considered for admission. Student will meet (in-person or by phone) with the program co-director.
