The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Özyeğin University was established in 2009, marking the beginning of a journey dedicated to producing high-caliber engineers and researchers equipped to meet the evolving demands of the industry. Since the first cohort of graduates in 2014, the department has continued to grow, offering a rigorous education that integrates cutting-edge research with practical application in the field of mechanical engineering. By 2015, the department had developed into a dynamic and vibrant academic community with 9 faculty members, each an expert in their respective fields, such as energy, mechatronics, and materials science. As of 2015, the department had the capacity to accept 54 new students each year into its undergraduate program, and the overall scholarship rate of the department stands at an impressive 60%, reflecting the institution’s commitment to supporting talented students in their academic journeys.
