M.A. Strategic Marketing Management (German/English)
Frankfurt Campus, Germany
Overview
The M.A. in Strategic Marketing Management (German/English) at ISM is a dynamic, practice-oriented program that prepares students to become innovative marketing professionals and strategic decision-makers in an international context. This bilingual Master’s program combines analytical rigor with creative thinking, equipping students with the expertise needed to design and implement successful marketing strategies in an increasingly complex and competitive global marketplace.
During the first two semesters at ISM, students acquire in-depth knowledge of core marketing concepts while developing the ability to analyze changing market conditions and consumer behaviors. A strong focus is placed on qualitative and quantitative market research, enabling students to identify market trends, assess brand performance, and define optimal market positions. Courses emphasize strategic thinking and practical application, covering topics such as brand management, digital marketing, consumer psychology, and international marketing strategies. Students also strengthen their intercultural competencies, communication skills, and bilingual fluency, as the program is taught in both German and English—preparing them to work across borders and cultures.
A key feature of the program is its close connection to industry practice. Real-world case studies, interactive workshops, and company projects help students develop a hands-on understanding of marketing challenges faced by international companies. Guest lectures and networking opportunities with professionals from leading brands offer valuable insights into current industry trends and career pathways.
In the third semester, students complete a semester abroad at one of ISM’s many international partner universities. This experience allows students to expand their global outlook, gain exposure to different academic perspectives, and enhance their adaptability in diverse cultural and business environments. The International Office at ISM offers comprehensive support during the selection and application process, ensuring a smooth and enriching study abroad experience.
The program culminates in the fourth semester with a practice-oriented master’s thesis, often written in collaboration with a company. This final project allows students to apply their theoretical and analytical skills to a real-world marketing issue, demonstrating their ability to develop effective strategies based on solid research and insight.
Graduates of the M.A. Strategic Marketing Management program are well-equipped to pursue leadership roles in brand management, digital marketing, market research, strategic planning, and marketing consultancy, both in Germany and internationally. The combination of academic excellence, practical training, and international experience makes this program an ideal launchpad for a successful career in the global marketing landscape.
