History
University of Konstanz Campus, Germany
Overview
In order to understand people, events and the present, to change perspectives and to present and argue your findings to others, you need a broad knowledge base. You will build up your knowledge with historical sources and the relevant literature. During your studies, we will teach you the methodological tools for dealing with sources and literature in small groups based on the central epochs of antiquity, the Middle Ages, the early modern period and modern and contemporary history.
You will practise historical methods intensively along historical focal points of economic, Eastern European, knowledge and religious history as well as archaeology and the medial communication of history in historical exhibitions or cross-epochal questions on topics such as trade, migration, culture of remembrance or family. You will learn to research, analyse, contextualise, question and present your findings and finally summarise them in texts, presentations or exhibitions. In this way, you will acquire a sound knowledge of history over the course of the degree programme.
