Düzce University is a public research university established on March 17, 2006, in the city of Düzce in northwestern Turkey. The university's roots trace back to 1976 with the founding of Düzce Vocational School, originally an academic branch of Istanbul Technical University's Sakarya Engineering Faculty.
Today, Düzce University operates 14 faculties, 4 institutes, 2 colleges, and 10 vocational schools, along with several research and application centers and a research and application hospital. The university's motto is 'the university that creates value,' with a vision to be a pioneer in environment and health technologies.
Düzce University holds the distinction of being the first and only Turkish university to receive the European Entrepreneurship Award for its project promoting entrepreneurship. It is a member of the European University Association (EUA) and the Caucasus University Association, and uses the ECTS academic credit system.
