Bezmialem Vakıf University is a private, non-profit foundation university located in Istanbul, Turkey. It was officially established in 2010, but its origins date back to 1845, when Bezmiâlem Sultan founded the Gureba-i Müslimin Hospital—the first modern hospital of the Ottoman Empire. The university is Turkey’s first thematic institution focused on health and life sciences.
