Kingston College delivers the globally recognized Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) through an innovative platform powered by AI and XR technology (KingstonXR). General Requirements

Students must earn 30 credits (18 compulsory and 12 optional credits)

• 4 credits in English (1 credit per grade) • 1 credit in French as a second language

• 3 credits in mathematics

• 2 credits in science

• 1 credit in Canadian history

• 1 credit in Canadian geography

• 1 credit in the arts

• 1 credit in health and physical education

• 1/2 credit in civics and

• 1/2 credit in career studies

30% of the 110 hours dedicated to the OSSD program is spent with an instructor, focusing on the final exam and project. This ensures students receive expert guidance and support in crucial areas.

Ontario Ministry of Education 

All enrolled students will be registered in the Ontario Ministry of Education’s student system. An academic file will be opened for all enrolled students, and they will be assigned a student number by the Ministry of Education. 


Scholarship Opportunities.

They will be eligible to apply for all scholarships available to Canadian high school graduates. Additionally, as international students, they will also be eligible to apply for scholarships specifically designed for international students

SAT Exemption Many US universities waive the SAT requirement for OSSD holders, eliminating the need for additional standardized testing.

CANADA:

Current Ontario High School Students (OUAC 102 Application) You should complete the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC)'s 102 Application if you:

• are a current, full-time Ontario high school student

• have not been out of high school for more than seven consecutive months

• expect to receive the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with six Grade 12 U/M courses by the end of the current year

• have not attended a post-secondary institution (college/university) 


USA

A minimum of five Grade 12 U courses, including Grade 12 U English, leading to the OSSD are required for freshman application. Students may apply during their senior year. No advanced standing credit is given for Grade 12 U/UC coursework. Students who complete programs in Ontario Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology (CAATs) apply for freshman admission. Up to 30 credits of advanced standing may be granted on a course-by-course basis for students who have completed a three-year CAAT program. No credit is awarded for completion of a one- or two-year program.

UK

Secondary School Diploma with six Grade 12 courses, to include no more than two 4M courses, each passed at 85%. Students are encouraged to choose U-course options in the subjects relevant to the degree of study. 


Advantages in Hong Kong: Language Requirement Waiver

IELTS/TOEFL Exemption OSSD holders are often exempt from the IELTS or TOEFL language requirements, simplifying the application process for Hong Kong universities


ENG4U Acceptance The ENG4U course, a core subject in the OSSD curriculum, is accepted as proof of English proficiency, meeting the language requirements of Hong Kong universities.


Global Recognition The OSSD's global recognition ensures that Hong Kong universities value the academic standards and rigor of the Ontario education system.
